About Kendra

A Deep Dive into Holistic Healing
Kendra Bratherton's path into holistic healing was not born solely from professional training—it was forged through a lifetime of personal healing, resilience, and an unwavering belief in the body's innate wisdom.
From an early age, Kendra's life was shaped by profound challenges, including multiple traumatic brain injuries, spinal fractures, spinal cord injury, childhood trauma, and several life-altering events that left lasting neurological and physical effects. A severe head injury in 2005 dramatically altered the course of her life, resulting in significant memory loss, cognitive challenges, and years of searching for answers.
When conventional approaches offered limited hope for recovery, Kendra chose a different path. Refusing to accept disability as her final story, she embarked on a deep and transformative healing journey—exploring the interconnectedness of the body, nervous system, emotions, energy, and consciousness. Through this process, she experienced firsthand the remarkable capacity of the human body to heal, adapt, and transform.
Every modality Kendra offers today has first been part of her own healing journey. Her personal experiences inspired her to study and integrate Tensegrity Medicine™, Bowenwork®, Mind-Body Bowen Therapy, Reiki, sound and frequency therapies, somatic awareness practices, ancestral restoration, and Quantum Consciousness Facilitation.
Professionally, Kendra holds a B.A. in Psychology and an Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy. She practiced Occupational Therapy from a span between 1996 to 2020 in acute care, home health, and outpatient rehabilitation, specializing in upper-extremity rehabilitation and brain injury recovery. She also taught in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Linn-Benton Community College from 2013 to 2020, founded the Pacific Northwest Head Injury Support Group from 2012 to 2022, served on the Board of the Brain Injury Alliance of Oregon from 2013 to 2021, and was a frequent speaker and facilitator at regional brain injury conferences.
Today, through Merkaba Center for Healing, Kendra combines professional expertise, intuitive insight, and lived experience to guide others on their healing journeys. Her mission is to inspire hope, empower self-discovery, and remind others that healing is possible—even when the path forward is not yet visible.
After more than three decades away, Kendra recently returned home to Michigan, where she lives near the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan and offers both virtual and in-person sessions, classes, and retreats.

The Tensegrity Medicine⢠Difference
Kendra's unique approach centers on Tensegrity Medicine™ - A Whole-System Approach to Healing
Tensegrity Medicine™ was developed by Kelly Clancy and is a holistic approach based on the understanding that the body is an interconnected system supported by fascia, not separate parts. Working within a BioTensegrity framework, TM restores balance, adaptability, and resilience across the entire system.
Think of your body like a spider web, not a stack of blocks.
Traditional medicine often views the body as separate parts—bones, muscles, organs, etc.
Tensegrity Medicine views the body more like a three-dimensional web where everything is connected. If one area of the web becomes tight, injured, or stressed, it affects the entire system.
1. Everything in the body is connected
Your muscles, bones, organs, emotions, and nervous system communicate continuously through a network called fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds and supports everything in the body.
Simple example:
A sprained ankle years ago may still influence your posture, shoulder pain, headaches, or even how safe your nervous system feels.
2. The body holds patterns
Physical injuries, emotional stress, trauma, repetitive movements, and life experiences can create protective patterns in the body.
These patterns may show up as:
- Chronic pain
- Tension
- Limited movement
- Fatigue
- Anxiety or overwhelm
- Feeling "stuck"
The body often adapts in ways that help us survive, but these patterns may no longer be serving us.
3. The body already knows how to heal
Rather than "fixing" someone, Tensegrity Medicine helps the practitioner listen to the body's wisdom and support its innate ability to reorganize and heal.
The practitioner follows the body's cues rather than imposing a predetermined treatment.
4. The nervous system plays a major role
When the nervous system is stressed or stuck in survival mode, healing can become difficult.
Tensegrity Medicine uses gentle hands-on techniques, movement, awareness, and energetic support to help the nervous system shift toward safety, regulation, and resilience.
Transforming Lives, One Session at a Time
Kendra thrives when working with individuals navigating mental, emotional, or physical challenges that traditional Western medicine hasn't fully addressed. If you're seeking a path to deeper healing and lasting well-being, Kendra offers a supportive and transformative experience.
